1. Are your cufflinks plated or solid?

All our cufflinks are of a solid metal, be it silver or gold. We have strict standards of quality that ensure that there is no sub-standard base metal (such as brass or others) coated with silver or gold. Each cufflink is crafted entirely from the metal specified, be it gold or silver.

2. Are your cufflinks hollow or solid bodied?

The majority of our cufflinks are solid bodied (i.e. not hollow) which is reflected in their weight. Solid bodied cufflinks 'weight-down' the shirt sleeve so that it falls very nicely when worn with a jacket. Some of our cufflinks do have a hollow core like our 14k bullet cufflinks for example. This has been done for affordability, as the entire shell is crafted in 14k yellow gold. Each cufflink item page will state whether the item is of a solid body or hollow.

3. How do I get an idea of the weight of a cufflink?

The approximate weight of each cufflink (as there is a pair the weight shown is that of one) is stated on the cufflink item page. The weight is stated in grams. As imagining the weight of something without being able to feel it is difficult, for comparison we recommend taking a quarter coin into your hand - which weighs approximately 5.67 grams. Comparing that to the stated weight of the cufflink should give you a feel for the weight of that specific item.

4. Will your cufflinks tarnish?

Our gold cufflinks will not tarnish. Silver cufflinks are treated with a slight layer of anti-tarnish, but like all authentic solid silver jewelry oxidization (or tarnishing) does take place over time or if exposed directly to sunlight for prolonged periods or substances like perfume. However, getting rid of the tarnish layer is relatively simple and can be done by wiping it vigorously with a dry cloth.
